Hey y'all!  Today I have the first of many posts for the beautiful summer collections from Zoya.  There will be 3, including this one, plus another one later in the month.  These are the creams.

zoya island fun collection review swatches

All of these were fully opaque in just 2 coats and as usual I used Seche Vite as my top coat.

zoya island fun jace swatches

JACE - Can be best described as a modern tropical green in a full coverage formula. - It's kind of a mossy meets lime peel green.  It makes me think of Yoda.

Demetria - Can be best described as a vibrant poppy red in a full coverage formula. - This is one that you'd think was a spot on dupe for America, but it's more orange/red than America.  I think of this as a tomato red, though poppy is pretty accurate too.

Cecilia - Can be best described as a classic teal in a full coverage formula. - It's a beautiful beachy blue/green cream.  LOVE it!

zoya island fun nana swatches

Nana - Can be best described as a deep summer fuchsia in a full coverage formula. - This screams berry pink to me.  It's slightly darker, and more pink, than Areej.

Talia - Can be best described as a true turquoise in a full coverage formula. - This is another of my fav shades for summer. The description is pretty spot on.

Serenity - Can be best described as a summer purple in a full coverage formula - When I hear purple, this is the shade I automatically think of.

Hey y'all!  Today I have the other summer collection out now from Zoya.  These are the ones with the more metallic shimmery/pearl finish.  Some of them almost look like they have tiny tiny tiny tiny(did I say tiny?) flakies in them.  So lets get right to it.

zoya paradise sun collection review swatches

Now while this doesn't exactly scream summer to me, well maybe the white, it's still pretty.  Also, for some of these, the shimmer was hard to pick up, but trust me, it's there.  I even did some lighting/camera adjustments to pick it up and stay as true to color as possible, so in some of these my skin looks even more pale than it naturally is.

zoya paradise sun genesis swatches

zoya paradise sun genesis swatches
Genesis - 3 coats - Can be best described as a crystalline white with a micronized metallic pearl finish - The shimmer on this almost looks like tiny blue & pink flecks, to the eye.  However in pictures it just looks like a white diamond shimmer.

zoya paradise sun aphrodite swatches

zoya paradise sun aphrodite swatches

Aphrodite - 2 coats(needs 3, still had some VNL) - Can be best described as a vibrant summer red with a micronized pearl metallic finish - This was kinda jelly-ish.  It's the very close sister to Demetria with the poppy red base, but the shimmer(flakie looking particles) are almost orange & pink looking.  You can see that in the area of the bottle corner where the light hits.

zoya paradise sun selene swatches

zoya paradise sun selene swatches

Selene - 3 coats - Can be best described as a true teal with a micronized metallic pearl finish - This is kind of a forrest-y mermaid green.  There is a visible purple/blue shift in the bottle that slightly transfers to the nail.

zoya paradise sun mae swatches

zoya paradise sun mae swatches

zoya paradise sun mae swatches
Mae - 3 coats - Can be best described as a warm magenta pink with a micronized metallic pearl finish - This also has that sheer jelly like base that Aphrodite has.  It's like a bubblegum pink packed with glitter is how I'd describe it.

zoya paradise sun oceane swatches

zoya paradise sun oceane swatches

zoya paradise sun oceane swatches
Oceane - 2 coats - Can be best described as a true turquoise with a micronized metallic pearl finish - While Selene is a mermaid-y green, this is like a mermaid-y blue.  Like the glittery ocean when the sun hits it.

zoya paradise sun isa swatches

zoya paradise sun isa swatches

zoya paradise sun isa swatches
Isa - 2 coats - Can be best described as a deep blue-based purple with a micronized metallic pearl finish - This is definitely a true blurple(blue/purple) shade.  It's coming off blue in these pictures, but when I look at it with my eyes it's purple.  Then I'll look at it again and it's blue.  Definitely one that will mess with you.  In fact, the day after I swatched this, I saw a new Mustang the same exact color & immediately thought of this polish.

These are now currently available on Zoya.com for $9ea. or $54 for the entire sampler set.

Hey y'all!  Super quick, and to the point post today!  While I was swatching the Island Fun and Paradise Sun collections I decided to quickly do some sponging on the tips and a dotted accent nail to show how the two can work together for something simple to do.

For each of these I used the creams in Island Fun as my base and the metallics in Paradise Sun for the added sparkle.

Super Easy Cloudy Gradient

Hey y'all!  So previously I shared swatches of each of these shades individually.  Today I have a super quick and easy gradient that I did using both of them.  It turned out looking like a cloudy sky, so I just left it alone.

faby pacific jewels and neon lights sugarful cloudy gradient nails

I started with a base of Pacific Jewels & Neon Lights then sponged some of Sugarful over the tips.  I did a few layers of the sponging so it looks more opaque at the tips and lighter as it goes up the nail.

I probably could've added some birds or something, but I think the simplicity of it is perfection.

Hey y'all!  Today I have the groovy new collection from Finger Paints.  This collection is made up of one core color, Paper Mache (a white), and 5 far out colors to wear alone or together create the perfect tie dye nail art.

finger paints tie dye revolution review swatches
Before I get to the swatches, I have to praise the formula on these.  They're SO easy to work with.  In fact, I usually have a few bubbles if I accidentally apply too thick of a coat.  NOT with these.  That goes a LONG way with me.  They were pretty easy to clean up as well.  So lets get to the swatches.

Yellow Out Man - 2 coats - A muted, yet also bright, buttery yellow cream.

finger paints tie dye revolution peace love & green swatches

finger paints tie dye revolution peace love & green swatches
Peace, Love, & Green - 3 coats - I could describe this 2 ways....a parakeet green or slime green. The formula on this is more of a crelly (cream/jelly hybrid) than just a cream.  I can still see some of the nail line under 3 coats.

finger paints tie dye revolution tie dye tangerine swatches

Tie Dye Tangerine - 2 coats - This orange cream is a bold tangerine, it almost reminds me of the shade of orange Yellow Freight(or YRC as they're now known) uses.

Be Hippy - 2 coats - This blue is that ocean/beachy shade that I love SO much.

Far Out Fuschia - 2 coats - This fuschia cream is one of my fav's.  Not too bright, but the perfect shade of pink.

These are currently available at Sally Beauty Supply & I highly recommend them.  I have an upcoming post using these in a nail art design, so keep an eye out for that. :D

Hey y'all!  While I was swatching the Tie Dye Revolution Collection from Finger Paints I was drawing a complete blank on what type of nail art design to do with them.  The most expected thing would be, of course, to do tie dye.  Instead I went in a different direction, and this is what I came up with.

finger paints tie dye revolution water marble blobbicure

I immediately thought of doing a blobbicure.  However, not having done one before I was a bit intimidated.  Instead I went with that as the accent nail & discovered that it wasn't nearly as difficult as I'd made it out to be.

finger paints tie dye revolution water marble blobbicure

For the other nails, I basically used the same technique, which is also used in waterless marbles, before swirling the blobs of polish around with my dotting tool.

finger paints tie dye revolution water marble blobbicure
I used a white base, applied 1 coat & let it dry before applying a much thicker coat.  Then added the blobs.

These all applied easily in just 2 coats & as usual I used Seche Vite as my top coat.  I'll have a nail art post up soon using a few of the shades so be sure to look for that.

The Heat Is On - A tomato-ish red crelly(creamy jelly). Every time I look at this or the name, the 80's Glenn Frey song of the same name gets stuck in my head.

china glaze desert escape meet me in the mirage
Meet Me In The Mirage - I would best describe this as like a rose copper with a silver metallic shimmer.  This was SO shimmery that this was the best out of the 27 pictures I took of this shade.  The light reflected off of every other one and kinda "blew out" the polish.  Thankfully you can somewhat see the polish in the picture on my nails and in the bottle.

In addition to the six modern and neutral hues, the ChinaGlazeDesert Escape collection also features two nail art kits:
·         Fringe with Benefits: Includes three lacquers and a set of temporary tattoos
·         Art You Looking Tribal: Includes three lacquers and a black Stripe Rite nail art liner

Hey y'all!  Friday I posted swatches of the Desert Escape collection.  Today I have a gradient that I did using a few of the shades.  It was quick and easy....and y'all can see how some of the shades look when used together.

I couldn't decide which shade to use on the tips so I contacted a couple nail friends on FB.  One said red, the other said turquoise.  Since they couldn't help me decide I went with both.

I started out with a base color of What's She Dune?

Then sponged Meet Me In The Mirage about 2/3 of the way up the nail.

And finished off with Rain Dance The Night Away & The Heat Is On(Accent) on the tips.

I still can't decide which tip color I like best.  What do you think?

Patriotic Red, White, & Blue Nail Art

Hey y'all!  So, these were actually the nails I wore for Memorial Day weekend, but I didn't get a chance to edit the pics in time to post it before hand.  I hated not being able to show pics on IG that I'd taken while out and about or hanging around with the neighbor family during that entire weekend.  The good thing is, now I can show you & maybe inspire you for and and all patriotic holidays.

patriotic red white and blue nails zoya

For this mani I used Wet N Wild French White Creme as my base.  The red is Zoya Demetria, the blue is Zoya Talia, and the sparkle is China Glaze Fairy Dust.

patriotic red white and blue nails zoya talia demetria

I applied the white base & let it dry.  The next day I did a sponge gradient with Zoya Demetria & Talia and goofed when I let the two blend together a little.  I could have fixed it, but thought it looked ok enough to leave it alone.  To add a little sparkle I put some Fairy Dust over top of that.

patriotic red white and blue nails zoya talia demetria
For the 2 middle nails I applied 3 chevron mini vinyls from NailVinyls to allow the white to show through and alternated applying the red & blue shades.

I loved it so much that throughout the weekend I was taking pictures with my nails and EVERYTHING on my phone.....

Then because I was totally and completely lazy, all I did on my right hand was the gradient....but I applied the two shades separately so that the white peeked through.  Thankfully I remembered to snap a picture.

My dominant hand is actually making a rare blog appearance!

I know it's not the traditional shades of the flag, and normally I would use those....but this year I wanted to do something different.

Hey y'all!  Today I have a new product from Sally Hansen to share with you.  I've been seeing lots of products like this hit the drugstore market recently.  So when given the chance to try it out I went for it.  I'm trying to keep this a short post, so I'll get right to it.

sally hansen big peel off pase coat

Since the discovery of products like this, I think most of us bloggers have switched over to using these as our base coats while swatching.  It makes removal SUPER easy.  If you're not a blogger, this is PERFECT for those of you who absolutely agonize at the thought of removing glitter polish.

Sally Hansen has 2 suggestions for using this.  While I've only tested out one fully I'll go ahead and tell you.  It's suggested to use 1 thick coat and let it dry.  I found this to take more time than I had, even with using a fan, and some of the area's only dried on the top leaving a spot of wet, white base underneath.  If you're using this for glitter only which may have a clear base, I'd suggest using 2 thin coats.  I found this worked way better with and without using a fan to help it dry.

Their other suggestion was to avoid hot water for at least 3 hours.  So, don't use this if you plan to wash dishes or take a shower immediately after.

I tested this out while swatching the Insta-Ombre collection and it worked wonderfully for removing every bit of glitter off of my nails.

Have you tried this out yet?

Hey y'all!  With July 4th being this weekend, I though I had to show off a beautiful red.  Last year OPI released an entire collection based on Coca-Cola products.  Having grown up with Coke, and even living in the same state, I wanted them all. Kinda like Pokemon.

opi coca cola red review swatches coke

Sadly, I had to choose just one and this is the one I grabbed.  I have TONS of reds in my collection, but I'm one of those polish addicts who just HAD to have it for the name.

opi coca cola red review swatches coke

I just happened to have a few different types of Coke packaging lying around, so I grabbed them to take a picture....or two.

Side note, before I forget....this is not a sponsored post I purchased this polish and the products in the pictures myself.

Coca-Cola Red is just that, a spot on Coke Red....and this cream is SUPER opaque.  I could've only used 1 coat, but went with 2.

Of course I have some glass bottles sitting around for display purposes(They're UGA Cokes) so I grabbed one off the shelf to snap a pic with.

Then I had to grab the bottle I keep for the kiddo with his name on it.

I see myself wearing this a LOT...even if I do have a ton of red creams.

What's your favorite way to drink Coke?  Mine is cold straight out of a glass bottle.

Hey y'all!  Today I have the other polish I own from last years Ford Mustang collection that OPI released.  It took me a while to find it, including trips to different Ulta's in my area, but I finally got it for my birthday last November.  I'm so happy about having this!

opi ford mustang the sky's my limit review swatches

For these pictures/swatches, I used 3 coats plus top coat.

opi ford mustang the sky's my limit review swatches
This is a sheer ocean-y blue jelly with teal/gold shifting shimmer.  It shows up more on the nail in this picture than it does in the others.  Trust me, it's there and does show up to the eyes.

opi ford mustang the sky's my limit review swatches

Later in my Dads life he had a Mustang that was similar in color to this.  I seem to remember it being more blue than blue/green though.  It was nice to drive, but OMG I hated opening those doors.  Especially when pulling up to an ATM & not being able to reach anything.

So, because of this I absolutely HAD to have this polish.  I hope y'all have a fun & safe July 4th weekend.

Hey y'all!  Today I have the only polish from the Pastel Neon collection that I own.  I managed to snag this one back in April at the Atlanta Nail Meetup & honestly got it only for the name.  I ended up liking the color too.  If you want to story on the name, keep reading.

color club pastel neon hot hot hot pants review swatches
This is a sheer cream pinky/peach BRIGHT pastel.  Depending on who you ask, some will call it peach while others will say it's pink.  If I set it next to an actual peach, it leans more pink.

color club pastel neon hot hot hot pants review swatches

For these swatches I used 3 coats plus top coat.  The formula is somewhat sheer, and I'd suggest layering it over white.

color club pastel neon hot hot hot pants review swatches
That being said, I had no issues with application.

color club pastel neon hot hot hot pants review swatches

Now for the story on why I had to have this one.  Some of you may, or may not, know that I used to be really heavy into World Of Warcraft (aka WoW).  My friends & I used to play together online or hang at someone's house and have a WoW party on all of the computers.  We had a guild already, but one night our "genius" friend Jr. said we should have a Smokey and the Bandit themed guild.  We're all fans of the movie & parts of it were filmed in area's that we're all from.  So, the guild Hushpuppies Daddy was born.

I don't remember what all names people used for their toons, but I do remember we had a Frogg and of course a Jr.  I was told I had to use Hot Pants and wasn't given a choice on it.  I go to make my toon and the name "Hotpants" is taken....so I changed it to "Hottpants".  Since then the guild has gone away and we've stopped playing, but I do still have a few toons in WoW with that name.  I think I even have a toon in Diablo3 with that name.

Anyway, there ya go....what's why I had to have this polish.  Do you own any of the others in this collection?

Hey y'all!  Today I have one of the pretties from the Poptastic collection that I picked up in at the Atlanta Nail Meetup back in April.  I've already used this in a gradient HERE& I'm finally getting a chance to swatch it.

color club poptastic peace love polish review swatches

Peace, Love, & Polish is a beautiful bright neon pink cream with a golden/orange shimmer.  For these pictures I used 2 coats plus top coat.

color club poptastic peace love polish review swatches
It dries kinda matte so it does need a top coat, in my opinion.

color club poptastic peace love polish review swatches

I like this so much that I've already used it in another nail art design that I'll have posted soon.  The only negative is that if you happen to need to do any clean-up around the cuticles, the shimmer will stay on your skin until you can wash it off.

What are your fav's from this collection?

Neon Pink Leopard Nails

Hey y'all!  Today I have a bright leopard print design that I want to share with you.  I was inspired by a pair of shoes that I saw on Pinterest, but I had to add some color other than the blue tips to it.  I looked over at my untrieds basket and went with 2 pink shades.  Then as I was saving the files, I noticed I apparently have a thing for leopard print nails.

neon pink leopard print nails

I actually plan to recreate this again soon without the blue tips because I LOVED it so much.  I didn't even want to take it off.  If you want to see what I used and how I achieved this design, keep reading.

neon pink leopard print nails color club hot hot hot pants
I started off with a base of Color Club Hot-Hot-Hot Pants.

neon pink leopard print nails

Then I sponged Color Club Peace, Love, & Polish on about 2/3 of the nail.  Using a makeup sponge helped diminish the neon a little and soften it a bit.  Once that was done I put a top coat on before going to the next step.

neon pink leopard print nails

Next I used black acrylic paint and a dotting tool to make the leopard spots.  Normally I use a brush, but I think I actually liked how this turned out better.  I put top coat under the paint so that if I didn't like it I could easily remove it without removing everything.  In the end it wasn't needed, but it's always helpful.

neon pink leopard print nails

Lastly, because the shoes had a bright blue toe, I used tape and applied some Bundle Monster stamping polish in #24 Royal Blue on 3 of the tips.  Unfortunately, the blue was more sheer than I thought it would be and you can see the black under it.  I think next time I'd use a white before the blue.

I'm really looking forward to doing this again.  What do you think?

Hey y'all!!!  I haven't been finishing that many product's monthly, so today is a recent empties post.  I'm still working on using everything up before starting on something new, but I'm not rushing.  SO, here's what we've got.

I already have reviews up for most of these and will, as usual, include a link to each of them where applicable.

Reviva Labs Glycolic Acid Oily Skin Day Moisturizer - I really liked this, but felt it was more, for me, a nighttime moisturizer.  It is, as it says, light....but I tended to use it more on non-makeup days.

Softlips Cube - This is in the Pomegranate Blueberry scent. I think I got this in a VoxBox or something.  I liked how it has SPF, and works really well...making my lips feel soft and smooth.  However, the fact that once it gets kinda even with the cube there's still product in the packaging.  The only way to get it out is to use your fingers and I HATE doing that.  Especially when I'm out and on the go & don't always have hand sanitizer on me.  Great product, horrible packaging.

Lifetherapy Bodywash - These can be used as body wash and/or hand soap.  They're perfect to try the different scents out, for stocking stuffers, for travel, and various other things.  I really LOVED these and of course my fav is the Escape scent.

got 2b Smooth Operator - This product has been a multi-tasker for me.  I don't remember which YTer I saw suggest it, but I love it.  I've actually this for a while & use it for straight and curly hair.  For those days I want to straighten my hair, I use just a little of this plus a heat protectant spray.  For curly days when I don't want to do a lot, I just add a little bit of this and let it air dry.  Thankfully I think I already own a backup of this.

Garnier Fructis Curl Shaping Spray Gel - When I bought this I already had the cream gel and loved it.  This, not so much.  The packaging is great, and I LOVE that it has a fine mist sprayer.  What I didn't like was that it seemed to take forever to get any product onto the hair.  So I'd spray it into my hands then scrunch into the hair while wet.  It dried more crunchy, and was just ok in my opinion.  The cream is way better, I think.  Because I love the sprayer on this I've cleaned it out already and mixed up my detangler concoction in the bottle.

That's it for recent empties.  Until next time!

Hey y'all!  Today I have one of the 2 colors I own from the 2013 Sunsational collection, Keepin' It Teal.  The other one is Sun of a Peach.  I eventually want to get all of the others as well, but that'll have to wait.  For now, lets get to the swatches & my thoughts.

This is a green/teal super sheer jelly.

When I put this on my list of polishes, I knew it was a jelly finish.  So when I swatched it, I layered it over a white.  I needed 3 coats for the result in these pictures and probably could have done a 4th.  If I had used this alone there's no telling how many coats I'd have ended up applying.

That all being said, I still love this.  I can't wait to do a pond mani or a glitter sandwich with it.

Do you own any of the others from this collection?

What are your favorite jelly polishes?
