China Glaze Electric Nights - the glitters

Hey y'all!  So the other day I showed y'all the 9 cream/crelly polishes in the Electric Nights collection.  Today I bring to you, the glitters.....and some marbling.

china glaze electric nights glitters neon watermarble

I wanted to do something different when swatching these & didn't want to use white.  Sadly one of the glitters had practically EVERY color in it. So to keep it from disappearing into the base I used white.  I also attempted to do a watermarble accent nail in shades that matched the glitters.  Hope you like.

Let The Beat Drop - 1 coat over Daisy Know My Name? - This contains hot orange and pink matte multi-size glitters.  The marble accent is Daisy Know My Name, Home Sweet House Music, and Glow With The Flow.

china glaze electric nights glitters neon watermarble can i get an untz untz
Can I Get An Untz Untz - 1 coat over Home Sweet House Music - This contains neon blue and green multi-size glitters.  I think I noticed a few purple (you can see them) in there too, but that color wasn't listed on the press release.  The marble accent is Violet-Vibes, DJ Blue My Mind, and Treble Maker(with a tiny bit of Home Sweet House Music peeking out from the base).

china glaze electric nights glitters neon watermarble point me to the party

china glaze electric nights glitters neon watermarble point me to the party
Point Me To The Party - 1 coat over white base - This contains pink, blue, green, orange, and (I think) purple matte multi-size glitter.  The marble accent is UV Meant To Be, Glow With The Flow, Treble Maker, Red-y To Rave, and Plur-ple.

The creams marbled rather well and would actually look WAY better if I hadn't goofed when using my marbling stick.  That being said, I do love how they kinda look like marbled soaps and stuff.

I had no issues with the glitters. In fact, I cleaned a TON off of the brush before applying, so this could be way more glitter.  Point Me To The Party did seem to have a slight pink tinge to the base when applied over the white, but it's not showing up on my camera.

Electric Nights Gradient

Hey y'all!  So when I was getting ready for a meetup with some local polish addicts last weekend (post on that will go up tomorrow) I was drawing a COMPLETE blank on what to do with my nails.  I knew I wanted to use some of the colors from the Electric Nights collection, so this is what I came up with.

electric nights redy to rave dj blue my mind

The 3 polishes I used, well other than my white base, were all China Glaze.  Red-y To Rave, DJ Blue My Mind, and the lovely Fairy Dust.

electric nights redy to rave dj blue my mind

I used the Chevron Mini's from NailVinyls (@teismom on IG) along with a sponge for the Red-y To Rave and DJ Blue My Mind gradient on the 2 middle fingers.  Red-y To Rave is on my index and thumb(not pictured) and DJ Blue My Mind on my pinky, with both being topped off with Fairy Dust.

Of course I had to grab an energy drink on the way to the meetup because I was up late the night before & woke up early.

What do y'all think?  I absolutely LOVE it.  So many of the ladies were asking about the shades too & thankfully I remembered them!

Atlanta Nail Meetup & Shopping/Haul

Hey y'all!  So last weekend I had the fortunate opportunity to meet up with some local polish addicts, IGers, nail tech's, and a polish maker.  We went out for lunch & then did some shopping.  A great time was had by all and I have pics to share!

atlanta nail meetup polish shopping

To start off with, we met up at a Vietnamese restaurant specializing in Pho.  I wanted something light and easy so I went with the steamed shrimp & pork spring rolls.  They were so yummy, but I couldn't eat BOTH of them.

We ate, talked, and had some fun.  Also, there were a few giveaways and games.  So, yanno that was interesting.  Lets just say trying to find your first Instagram post when you have over 1700 is pretty difficult.

Then, of course we had to go SHOPPING.  There were so many of us walking around that I only got one good shot of the stock. Dionne from Glittery Fingers & Sparkling Toes was shopping with me & we both went a little nuts. We kept getting our carts stuck & ramming into each other.  SO much fun.  Also, it helped me that she'd been there before so she showed me around.

This was my haul, which I'll have everything listed from it down in the post.  I'll just say there were only 2-3 of us who needed a box like this.  #polishaddictproblems

Then, when we all finished, we HAD to take a group nail shot.  If you saw yesterdays post, you'll know which hand is mine. :D

This is everything I got for myself...

From our destash swap:
- Orly Fowl Play
- Rainbow Honey Pink Cloud
- Jindie Nails - K.I.S.S.
- A England Dragon

From Fefe of Shop Eighty4:
- Candy(not pictured because I shared it)
- Wet N Wild Putting On Airs
- Eighty4 Liquid Lipstick in Chelease

SHOPPING:
- 2 pairs of Black Pedi Socks
- #14 Kolinski Brush

China Glaze:
- Sun Of A Peach, Surfin For Boys, Flip Flop Fantasy
- Keepin' It Teal, Fairy Dust, Choo-Choo Choose You

OPI:
- Coca-Cola Red

Orly:
- Sparkling Garbage x2

Color Club:
- Call Of The Disco Ball/ The Uptown
- Hot-Hot-Hot Pants/ Foxy Mama
- Not-So-Mellow Yellow / Peace, Love, & Polish

Of course I picked up a few back-ups and some stuff I've always wanted but didn't get.  I figured while I was getting a deal I might as well.

Also, I picked up the Color Club Poptastic Pastel Neon collection for a friend & boxed them up for her.
atlanta nail meetup polish shopping

All in all it was a great day.  Even with the traffic in and around Atlanta on my way there.  This is honestly the most polish I've bought in a LONG time, and I felt kinda guilty.  Then I reminded myself that some of it was for a friend, some was for my giveaway stash, and I needed to treat myself because I've not been doing that at all lately.

Now that my swatch basket is getting full I must get down to business.  What can't you wait to see?

Target Beauty Box

Hey y'all!  Today I have the most recent beauty box from Target to share my thoughts on.

target beauty box

When I saw people posting all over social media about this, I almost didn't get it.  That is until I saw what was in it.  I've actually skipped the last few, but this just called to me.

target beauty box
Pretty Black Box

target beauty box
I liked the little card as soon as I opened it.  The back of it has the product list as well as some info about each.  The even better thing is there was a $3 off $15 coupon included.  So, I paid $5(plus tax) for the box, get some great products to try out, AND get a coupon.  HECK YEAH!

target beauty box
I haven't had a chance to play with everything yet, but keep an eye out for a review or empties post when I do.

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Spray & Set -  It is a lightweight spray that locks-in your makeup for all-day extended wear.  This retails upwards of $17-$18, but it's $13.99 at Target, and this is a FULL SIZE!  It's the entire reason I even bought this box. I have horribly oily skin, and I'm hoping I love this as much as the reviews I've seen.

Tresemme Tres Two Extra Hold Hairspray - Achieve maximum hold without stiffness or stickiness. Sprays on dry.  I haven't tried Tresemme hair spray in a while, so I can't wait to use this.  It's travel sized too, so it's perfect to throw in the purse when I need it.

SheaMoisture Superfruit Complet 10-in-1 Renewal System Shampoo - Sulfate free, antioxidant-rich shampoo helps to renew vibrancy for dull, lackluster hair.  I've really wanted to try this brand for a while, as I've heard great things from fellow curly girls, so this is perfect for me.  It smells amazing and I actually tried it today & really like it.  I'll keep y'all updated on it.

Maybelline Color Elixir by Color Sensational Lip Color - A trio of concentrates delivers the color of a lipstick, the care of a balm, and the shine of a gloss.  The shade I received is Rose Redefined, a medium pink tone.  This was the other full size product & I'm looking forward to playing with it.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream - Non-greasy, skin quencher instantly absorbs like a gel, but intensely moisturizes like a cream.  This says for extra dry skin, which I have SUPER oily skin.  Even though it says non-greasy I gave it to my neighbor to try & see if she likes it.  I'm currently reviewing a skin care line and didn't want to affect anything by trying something new.

So that's it.  I believe that the products were the same for everyone, but maybe the lip color shades were different.  If you got one, please let me know your thoughts and what shade you got.

Hey y'all!  Today I have something I feel would be the most perfect & foolproof gift for Mother's Day.  Lifetherapy was kind enough to send a few products out for me to try & I'm absolutely in LOVE with this. I think other moms would be too. Not only are they luxurious, but the packaging is adorable as well.

lifetherapy escape

Lifetherapy offers 5 different scents to suit your mood so that you (or your Mom) can relax and transport yourself to a peaceful place.  The products I received are from the Escape scent collection, but I did also receive a sampler containing the others and I'll have a different post for those.

lifetherapy escape

Included was the Hydrating Body Lotion, Mood Enhancing Hand and Body wash, and the Eau De Parfum.

With notes of Gardenia, Pineapple Leaf, Sensuous Musk, and Palm Park, Escape will calm your too-much Winter nerves so you can appreciate the flowers about to bud.  These are great alone, but even better when layered.

lifetherapy escape

I use the hand & body wash in the shower, because I'm stingy that way.  It's moisturizing and makes the shower feel like I'm in a spa.  Then use the lotion as soon as I'm out and dry off, it's light and soaks right in to the skin.  Not one bit greasy at all.  Lastly, I finish off with a few sprays of the perfume & constantly find I'm smelling myself throughout the day.

With the scent, it's hard to accurately describe.  I don't really pick up anything other than floral and clean.  It's fragrant without being overpowering or too light to notice.

Hey y'all! So I've already shared the Escape scent collection from Lifetherapy.  They were also kind enough to send a sampler of the lotion and body wash in the other scent collections.

lifetherapy vacation escape play chill flirt body lotion hand wash

These Sampler sets come in either the body lotion or body wash options.  I've already given thoughts on the types of products in my earlier post so right now we'll just go through the scent options.

Flirt - Bergamot, Water Flowers, Coconut, Muguet, & Rose - These blend together nicely so it's not too much of just one scent.  Innocent & playful.

Chill - Fresh Citrus, Heliotrope, Dry Amber, Calming Rose, & Vanilla - This definitely has that amber & vanilla kick to it, but not overwhelmingly so.  Subtle & peaceful.

Play - Jasmine, Red Orange, Marsh Grass, & Peach Skin - For me, this is right up there with Escape as my favorite.  When I first used it, I thought immediately of a tart grapefruit scent...not the normal sweet that everything else has, but when I actually read the info I find that's from the red orange.  I love to put this on my hands just before going to sleep and smelling them as I drift off.  Feminine & youthful.

Vacation - Polynesian Coconut, White Orchid, Warm Sugar, & Sandalwood - This is another that blends nicely and nothing sticks out powerfully.  It's like that coconut sunscreen smell, but more intoxicating.  Warm & sensuous.

Escape - Gardenia, Pineapple Leaf, Sensuous Musk, & Palm Bark - Light, airy, floral, and not musky in the usual sense.  It reminds me of these blue bath salts I used to buy ages ago because it strangely made me feel calm and like I was in ocean waters.  Clean & crisp.

These are also great Mother's Day gifts so that special lady in your life can find her favorite.  These would even be great bridesmaids gifts or stocking stuffers if you're planning ahead. :D

Hey y'all!  Today I have 4 new pretties from the wonderful brand Dermelect.  Their polishes aren't just color, but treatments too.

Lets get straight to the swatches and I'll tell y'all a bit more about these after.

dermelect all decked out swatches review a shore thing

dermelect all decked out swatches review a shore thing
A Shore Thing - 3 coats with top coat - This is described as a sheer beige, but it looks more pink to me.  One coat is "your nails but better" for that natural look, but it's not opaque unless you build up coats or layer it.  This would look really awesome with some white tips for that pink & white "American mani" that most salons refer to.

dermelect all decked out swatches review dune my thing

dermelect all decked out swatches review dune my thing
Dune My Thing - 2 coats with top coat - This is described as a mauve taupe and I completely agree.  This is super opaque and you could probably get away with just one coat.

dermelect all decked out swatches review fant a sea

dermelect all decked out swatches review fant a sea
Fant-A-Sea - 3 coats with top coat - This is described as a peach shimmer.  The shimmer is a mixture of pink and silver.

dermelect all decked out swatches review lazy daze

dermelect all decked out swatches review lazy daze
Lazy Daze - 2 coats with top coat - This is described as a butter creme.  It definitely makes me think of butter, though it's more tan/yellow/pastel.  Around the edges it looks lighter, almost like I used a white base under it, but I didn't.

BENEFITS:
  • Strengthens weak, brittle nails.
  • Restores nail flexibility.
  • Helps nails resist chipping and splitting.
  • Provides long-lasting, high shine & bold color.
  • Water and detergent resistant.
  • Protects against UV rays.
  • DBP, Toluene, & Formaldehyde FREE.

Dermelect Memento and Revital-Oil

Hey y'all!  Today I have some new treatment products available from DERMELECT to share my thoughts on.  I'll go ahead and tell y'all now, I LOVE them.

dermelect memento revital oil

So lets start off with Memento.  This top coat is applied as you usually would.  It has the benefits of a gel polish without having to cure for application or soak for removal.  It's thick without being overly thick and gloopy.  This dries and hardens as a result of exposure to daylight or bulb light.

And let me tell you the shine on this little product is AMAZING.  It's like brand new patent shoes.  I currently have it on my toes and it took no time at all to dry, I think they suggest waiting 8 minutes.  When I get a chance, and I'm not swatching, to use it on my nails and test the wear fully I'll be sure to let y'all know.  Though, it's been on my toes for at least a week with no chipping or dullness.

dermelect memento revital oil
Now, for Revital-Oil.  This product is a 2-in-1.  You get a protein peptide treatment AND a cuticle oil complex(shea butter, argan oil, jojoba oil, citrus oils, & coffee bean extract).  The scent is lightly of those citrus oils, both orange and lemon....but nothing overpowering.  As you can see it looks like an oil & vinegar mixture, and just as with dressing this needs to be shaken before application.

Revital-Oil penetrates the nails to condition nail beds and help restore ragged cuticles while simultaneously strengthening the nails.  Since receiving this I've been using it especially during swatch-fests to help keep my nails in shape.  This stuff is powerful.  Usually when I swatch, and use acetone to clean up around the edges I have to put moisture back on the skin, but NOT with this stuff.  It kept everything looking great, even with washing my hands.

All Dermelect nail & hand treatments are:
  • dbp, formaledhyde, & toluene FREE
  • Cruelty FREE
  • Hydroquinone FREE
  • Paraben FREE
Memento retails for $16.00 & Revital-Oil retails for $14.00, both are 0.4 fl. oz.

Exposed Skincare - 60 Days To Clearer Skin

*Powered By Brandbacker*

Hey y'all!  Today I'm here to share some info on a skincare line that I've been trying out for a few weeks.  The brand is Exposed Skincare and we're just going to start with what it is first.

exposed skincare

The Exposed acne treatment is the first full spectrum system that not only treats, but prevents acne in ways never thought imaginable. This system is designed to unclog blocked pores, kill acne causing bacteria and help your skin normalize oil production. As well as aid in the healing of skin and reduce redness.

Included in my box (which is the Basic Kit) was the Clearing Tonic, Acne Treatment Serum, Clear Pore Serum, and Facial Cleanser along with an exfoliating Derm-X cloth.  Everything was safety sealed to prevent product leakage in transit.

Here's what my face looks like before I started the treatment....
Sorry for the yellow lighting.
I have extremely oily skin with random breakouts, super large pores, and blackheads.  I don't think the photo above shows how large the pores are and actually my acne spots blend in with my freckles.  I'll make sure to get better lighting with updates.

Morning Routine:
  • Facial Cleanser - Contains Salicylic Acid to clear pores, Pro-Vitamin B5 to regulate oil production, and Sage Extract to detoxify skin.  This is super gentle, but shouldn't be used near the eyes.
  • Clearing Tonic - Contains Salicylic Acid to clear pores, Green Tea Extract to heal & protect skin, Passion Flower to reduce inflammation, and Azelaic Acid to normalize cell turnover.  They suggest using your bare hands to spread a small amount over your face, avoiding the eye area.  With my first use of this I found that was next to impossible due to packaging.  I tried to pour a small amount, but product flew all over my counter and I had to grab a cotton pad.  I'm actually thinking of moving this into a spray bottle as I prefer to apply my toner that way.
  • Acne Treatment Serum - Contains Benzoyl Peroxide to kill acne bacteria, Green Tea Extract to heal & protect skin, and Tea Tree Oil to promote healing.  This is a gel formula that also needs to avoid the eye area.  This gets applied while the skin is still slightly damp from the Clearing Tonic and needs to completely dry before applying anything else.
  • From there you can continue on with your day.
Evening Routine:
  •  Facial Cleanser
  • Clearing Tonic
  • Clear Pore Serum - Contains Salicylic Acid to clear pores, Green Tea Extract to heal & protect skin, and Licorice Root to reduce inflammation.  This is also gel like, but appears more white than clear like the Acne Treatment Serum.  It does have a slight, almost lettuce like, scent but it does go away once it dries down in about 3-5 minutes.

They also tell you to be patient, there is a 2 week adjustment period where some flare up may occur before healing begins.  You'll start to see noticeable Improvements in 6-8 weeks.   Other things that help are drinking plenty of water, avoiding sugar & dairy, washing as soon as possible after sweating, changing your pillow case every 2 days, and STOP touching your face.  That last one is my worst issue.

More info on the Basic Kit can be found HERE

Hey y'all!  If you happened to catch my recent post from the Atlanta Nail Meetup, then you'll have seen this in the haul.  Not-So-Mellow Yellow was part of last years Poptastic collection.  In order to keep this short and simple I'm going to get right to it.  So, keep reading for more info, swatches, and some stamping.

I wore this mani recently and my kid LOVED it.  I think because this is his favorite color & he has some shirts that match.

color club poptastic not so mellow yellow
I only needed 2 coats for this opacity and no white base under.
color club poptastic not so mellow yellow
Not-So-Mellow Yellow is a bright yellow/green with a golden shimmer.  When held next to something green, it appears more green.  When next to something yellow, more yellow.

I felt like I needed sunglasses when I was editing these pictures because it was SO bright.

Then I wanted to do some stamping, using my new BPS plate I'd just picked up BP-L006.  I was having issues getting the images onto my nail so I made a decal using Bundle Monster Royal Blue stamping polish and the base color, NSMY.

The decal made everything SO much easier, but because of the yellow and blue the design appeared more green than blue.  Which was totally fine & it still looked great.

I can't wait to play with the other shades I picked up from this collection.  Do you have any of them?

Schwarzkopf styliste ULTÎME Biotin+ Volume & Texture Dry Shampoo and Volume Powder Review

Hey y'all!  Today I have 2 new favorite hair products to share my thoughts on.  I have used several of the Schwarzkopf Got2B products and LOVE them. Recently these and some other Schwarzkopf lines released in WalMart stores and when I got the chance to try them, I had to.  I could possibly even call these my new holy grail products.

Schwarzkopf styliste ULTÎME Biotin+ Volume & Texture Dry Shampoo and Volume Powder Review

I'll start off with the Magic Volume Powder.  If you've never tried a product like this to get some volume, you should.  It really came in handy when my hair was shorter and I wanted some poofy piecy looking hair.  Now, I use it no matter how I wear my hair, straight or curly.  All you do is dust a little bit onto the roots of your hair and massage it in.  It's similar to dry shampoo, but I think it actually works a little better at giving lift to your hair.  Though I suggest pouring a little into your hands, rubbing them together, then massaging it in.  It seems to work better and there's less product leaving white spots on your hair.  The results you get last too.

Now for the luxe fresh dry shampoo.  I've tried several drugstore dry shampoo's and have not liked any of them, I've even used a high end(not even sure if it's made anymore) with no luck.  I think, after looking at the ingredients on this one, it's because this has rice starch rather than aluminum starch.  Trying to find something to blend into my hair and disappear is difficult, not to mention something that doesn't look like I have a TON of junk in my hair.

Schwarzkopf styliste ULTÎME Biotin+ Volume & Texture Dry Shampoo and Volume Powder Review

The picture above was taken after using the dry shampoo on 3rd day hair.  I really went to town testing this out & spraying it in my hair.  I left it in for a few minutes then massaged it in before brushing everything through.  As soon as I did that, I wanted to marry this stuff.  Seriously.

Schwarzkopf styliste ULTÎME Biotin+ Volume & Texture Dry Shampoo and Volume Powder Review
Pardon the look on my face, blinding flash.
There's NO product showing in my hair.  You can't even tell that I used anything & it doesn't feel like there's anything in my hair either.  I even used this again the next day, expecting at least a little bit of build up.  Nope, NONE.  I even managed to go a full week without washing my hair thanks to this stuff.  Oh, and the smell is AMAZING.  I can't exactly figure out what it is, but it is slightly floral.  Even being around smokers, my hair smells fresh thanks to this stuff.

So, if you're looking for a product that works & doesn't leave residue buildup behind, you need both of these.  GO, NOW, to WalMart.  I know I'll be stocking up on these and possibly trying out some other things.

April Empties

Hey y'all!  I know the last empties post I did was a few months worth, and I almost just combined April with May, but I wanted to go ahead and empty my bag out & get back into the monthly swing of things again.

So without further ado, lets get right to it.

clairol flair hair color loreal hicolor own eye cream

Clairol Flare Hair Color - 4VVR Ultraviolet - I previously used the 6RR Blaze and LOVED it, but when I went to get another tube, Sally's was out.  I happened to have the kiddo with me & he picked this one.  I actually like it and it gives that fall/winter darker red shade that's awesome.  I'll definitely be putting this on my list to use again & in early April I mixed it with the L'Oreal color above & REALLY loved it.  If you saw my recent Schwarzkopf review that was the result of mixing the two shades.

L'Oreal Excellence HiColor - Red - I've been using this off & on for a few years now.  I absolutely LOVE the results it gives, but now I'm finding those same results in other brands.  As stated above I mixed this with the Clairol 50/50 the last time I colored my hair to finish both tubes and it's still awesome.  If you like that Rhianna red, this is what I'd suggest.

OWN Lifting Eye Cream - I did a review on this a WHILE ago.  I didn't start using it religiously until about a year ago when I was going through a LOT of personal stuff and noticed that from not using it, my eyes were looking bad.  It's light and works well for my sensitive area without feeling heavy.  Plus it lasted a LONG time.  I'm currently using something else, but if you don't like heavy eye creams give this one a try.

Dead Sea Cosmetics Cuticle Oil - I finally finished this off and was SUPER glad.  I got this in a kit from a mall kiosk and didn't really appreciate oils until I started blogging.  I wasn't a HUGE fan of this, but I ended up using it on my nails before removing polish during swatch-fests.

ELF Clear Brow & Lash Mascara - This stuff lasts for ages.  I can't remember when I bought it, but I did get it to help keep my brows in place after filling them in.  I mean, for a few bucks you can't beat it.  Once one end was empty I swapped them so I could continue using the brush meant for brows.  The only difference in the wand/brushes on this is the one for lashes is completely cut off on the end and the one for brows is kinda pointed.  The shape of them seems to be the same on both.

ELF Essential Concealer Brush x2 - I have a love/hate relationship with these.  I love how well they work for clean-up around the nails.  WHEN they work that is.  They're kind of hit & miss.  I've had to start inspecting them before purchasing to make sure the hairs are longer & just recently noticed that clamping down on the ferule helps hold them in place a little better.  Sometimes these will last for months & other times just a few days/weeks.  Though for $1 I can't really complain too much.

Bath & Body Works Pocketbac x2 - The 2 I finished are I Love Cake(Buttercream) and Fresh Market Apple.  I seem to always(well almost always) have these in my empties posts because I love them.  Out of those two scents my fav would be the apple.  I stock up on these a few times a year & have them scattered throughout my house and purse.

So that's what I finished up this month.  I'm so close to finishing some other stuff that I am forcing myself to finish up soon.  I like getting old stuff out of the way to make room for the new.

China Glaze Sun Of A Peach

Hey y'all!  Today I have another of the pretties that I picked up at the #AtlNailMeet back in April.  Sun Of A Peach was part of the 2013 Sunsational summer collection from China Glaze.  I'm going to tell y'all now that this one was a PITA to photograph.

For these swatches, I used 3 coats (plus top coat) and probably could've gone for a 4th.

It's a BEAUTIFUL, in my opinion, neon peach.  It's more of an orange peach than a pink one.  I love it SO much and can't wait to do a gradient with it. (pssst, I've already done one and can't wait to show y'all)

The formula on this was kinda streaky, but it possibly could've been my fault....or that it was sitting in a warm warehouse when I bought it.  It dried down to a satin finish, so I definitely needed to add a top coat.

Which are your fav's from this collection?  I think I also grabbed Keepin It Teal & may end up grabbing more if/when I go back.

Hey y'all!  Today I have this amazing organic haircare line to tell y'all about.  Before I get into that, I need to thank my stylist friend Beth Johnson (@sugarcoatedbeth on Instagram) and her co-worker Robin Sjoblom (@robinsjoblom on Instagram), both of Fuzion Hair Studio in Smyrna, GA, for the opportunity to review these products.  I'll have more detailed information for both of them later on in this post, so lets get right to it.

I also want to mention they've had great results using this line on both straight and curly haired clients.  Beth sent me a list of detailed instructions (she also said to start with a small amount first before adding more if needed) and Robin sent me products to go from start to finish.

What I received:

I took pics throughout the process and had the kiddo help take some of them.  As always, you can click to enlarge.

In the before pic, this is my hair about 4 days after washing previously.  For curly styling, shampoo twice, mainly concentrating on massaging the scalp before rinsing.  To condition, start with an amount a little larger than a quarter and work it through the hair starting all over.  Then use your fingers to work it through each section, adding more conditioner and warm water as needed.

After rinsing the conditioner out, before you get out of the shower and while your hair is still completely saturated (don't wring the water out), flip your head over and use your fingers to rake through any tangles.  Use about a quarter sized amount of the Curl Control and rake through your hair before scrunching up with your hands.  If your hair is still saturated, you should hear a squishy sound while scrunching.  Then take a quarter sized amount, or more, or the  I Create Hold gel in your hands...rub them together and glide it over the front and back, then sides of the hair making sure NOT to rake through before scrunching again.

At this point, you can use an old t-shirt or microfiber towel to scrunch/squeeze any remaining water out of your hair before letting it air dry or using the diffuser on your hair dryer.  The picture above shows these steps after completion.  I chose to let my hair air dry.  If you wish, you can use clips at the roots while drying for added volume.

Once your hair is completely dry, this took me a few hours, grab a pea sized amount of the Finishing Polish and rub it between your palms/fingers before scrunching it onto your hair while your head(hair) is flipped over.  You can shake at the roots to give your style a little volume as well.  While you're still flipped, use a few sprays of the I Create Finish.  Then flip back over and rearrange the curls to your liking.

The picture above is after said steps above, but I didn't shake much at the roots or separate the curls at all.  It turned out rather nice and I had to keep reminding myself NOT to play with my springy curls.  I went to sleep a few hours later and woke up the next morning not having to do much with my hair at all.

innersense organic beauty curly hair review
I just flipped my head over, applied a little more of the finishing polish and hairspray and went with it.  This is honestly the BEST 2nd day curl I've ever had.  No dryness, no crunch, no frizz.  It looked healthy and held all day long.  I think I even went 4 days (with the help of a little dry shampoo on day 3 and 4) before having to wash my hair due to product buildup and flatness.  You'd think that with all that product it would weigh the hair down, but it does the exact opposite.

I've always had issues trying to make my naturally curly hair look good and feel natural, but this does it.  It even smells great.  Everything, except for the finishing polish, smells citrusy(like tangerines).  The polish smells almost like cocoa butter, though that's not an ingredient.

If you're in the Atlanta, GA area, I'd highly suggest getting in touch with either of these ladies.

If you're not, you can find a salon near you that uses Innersense by using their Salon Locator

To say I love these products, and the results, is a HUGE understatement.  They're free of harsh chemicals & are organic.  They're even Leaping Bunny approved!

Hey y'all!  When I swatched China Glaze Sun Of A Peach recently I looked and thought I needed to do something with it.  I looked over to my basket of untrieds/meetup purchases & found exactly what I needed.

china glaze sun of a peach color club peace love & polish gradient neon nail art

As I said, I started out with a base coat of China Glaze Sun Of A Peach.  Then grabbed a sponge to do the rest.

Looking at Color Club Peace, Love, & Polish I saw the golden/peachy shimmer and knew it needed to be paired with this beautiful neon peach base.

This is one of my fav gradient combo's(second only to THIS) recently.

I think I'll be doing this again soon, maybe with some stamping.

L to R: Double Chocolate, G. Kelly, Daryl Dixon Is My Cupid, Syracuse, Wine Country, Very Vanilla

After trying Syracuse, I need ALL OF THE ORANGES....which have become my favorite shade lately to wear with my blue eyes.  Very Vanilla is awesome and practically blends into my natural skin tone.

So as I stated earlier, make sure you're following me so you can see a look I did with a few of these shades. You can click on that post HERE or HERE to see these in use.  Also, be sure to follow BFTE (info below) for sales and other info from them. :D

Hey y'all!  Today I have 2 new amazing products from CoverGirl to tell y'all about.  Both are part of the LashBlast range & I'm in love.  CoverGirl has REALLY been winning me over lately.

Back when I first started wearing makeup I wore nothing but CoverGirl.  Then, as I got older and started buying my own stuff, I played with different brands.  Several years ago I tried a few things and was sadly disappointed and gave up on the brand.  As soon as I saw great reviews on the Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 foundation I gave it a try and fell in love.  Since then I've been trying product after product and have been obsessed with each of them.  I'll stop blabbering away and get to the products and info now.

As far as I can tell,  this is only available in one shade(300 Intense Black) and is not waterproof.  The paddle is a felt tip that has a shape unlike any other I've ever seen.  If you enlarge the picture above, you'll see that depending on how you hold the pencil you can get a pretty thin or a thick line.  The pen itself is just slightly thicker than a pencil and the "handle" is sort of a textured area of the plastic that looks rubbery.

This is SUPER easy to hold and apply.  In fact, I've always been kind of afraid of using liquid liner due to having hooded AND oily lids.  Other than messing up a little on the inner portion of my lid, you'll see in the picture at the bottom of this post, I had no problems.  In fact, the only transfer I had during the entire day was when the product was still a little wet.  Thanks to this little thing I'll be wearing liquid liner without fear!

This is available in waterproof(1 shade available) or non-waterproof(3 shades available).  I received this in the non-waterproof, shade 800 Very Black.  As you can see above, the "brush/wand" is very different.  You start with placing the flat side at the base of your lashes and twirl the wand as you go up the lashes to apply and comb through the lashes.  Because of the brush being so small I was able to get ALL of my lashes without making a HUGE mess.  Even my lower lashes looked great after applying this.

I recently switched to using the Clump Crusher mascara by CG and have LOVED it.  This ranks right up there with it for me.  There's no flaking or transfer of product throughout the day.  So I'm not having to wipe black smudges off of my eyes or cover it with concealer at all.  No panda eyes here.  I'll definitely be getting the waterproof version to try once this is gone.

Here you can see how thick or thin the liner will go as well as a smudge of the mascara.  It may look flaky, but it's not.  I didn't overload my lower lashes, but it definitely makes them look super natural.  I decided to go for a big wing and loved it.  In fact, when my neighbor saw it, she LOVED it.

So what are your favorite CoverGirl Products?  Have you tried these yet?

Recent EOTD with CoverGirl and BFTE

Hey y'all!  Recently I did a review of a few products from both CoverGirl and BFTE Cosmetics. Today I have a quick EOTD with a list of products used.  The picture is the same one from the CoverGirl post.  So I apologize that I forgot to save individual larger pictures of this look.

Products used:
  •  Essence I <3 Stage Primer
  • BFTE Very Vanilla (Brow bone/highlight)
  • BFTE Syracuse (Lid & Inner lower lash)
  • BFTE Double Chocolate (Outer V into the crease)
  • MakeUp Geek Peach Smoothie (Crease/blending)
  • CoverGirl Intensify Me! Liner (Upper Lid Liner)
  • Rimmel ScandalEyes Nude (Lower water line)
  • BFTE Daryl Dixon Is My Cupid & G. Kelly (Lower lash line)
  • CoverGirl Super Sizer Mascara (Lashes)
  • Coascal Scents Burnt Umber (Brows)
I've really been digging orange shades with my blue eyes & the occasional pop of teal/aqua with a neutral looking eye.  The best thing about the BFTE shadows is you can go as light or as intense with them as you want, depending on the look you're going for.
